Child and Family Health

The goal of the Child and Family Health division at Region of Waterloo Public Health and Emergency Services is to promote the healthy development of children from birth to six years.

Programs and Services

The following are programs and services offered by the Child and Family Health division to residents of the Waterloo region.



  • Telephone support provided by a public health nurse
  • Developmental and nutritional screening support
  • Referrals to appropriate community services
  • Health teaching and parenting education
  • Training to other service providers who work with children 0-6 years and their families
  • Promotion of healthy child development through community partnerships
