Family Visitor Program
Parents of infants and young children often have questions about what to do or who to ask for help. As part of the Healthy Babies, Healthy Children Program, some families have a Family Visitor.
What do Family Visitors do?
- Help families link to community programs
- Provide information and support
- Help parents learn about nutrition, safety, play and other parenting concerns
Who can have a Family Visitor?
- Families who are expecting a baby
- Families with children under the age of three
- Families recommended for the program by a service professional, usually a Public Health Nurse
How is a referral made?
- Families can refer themselves by calling the Healthy Children Info Line at 519-883-2245
- Doctors or other service providers can refer if the family agrees
Then what happens?
A Public Health Nurse will visit and talk with you to see if this program is right for your family.
