Sexual Health Counselling

Region of Waterloo's sexual health counselling provides assessment, treatment, education and referrals for a variety of sexual health issues:

  • Healthy relationships
  • Sexual orientation
  • Sexual assault referrals
  • Birth control information
  • Pregnancy testing, counselling and referrals
  • Post-therapeutic abortion
  • Sexually Transmitted Infections information
  • General sexual health information

A public health nurse is available to provide these services as drop-in. Limited number of appointments are available through the nurse based on availability and nursing assessment. Please call 519 883 2267 to speak to a nurse. All calls will be returned within one business day.

Harm Reduction and Needle Syringe services are also available at Public Health locations.

All services are free and confidential. No health card is required.

The clinics are LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer/Questioning) positive; sex trade workers are welcome.


If you've experienced a sexual assault, you have the following options:

  • Call the Sexual Assault Support Centre of Waterloo Region at 519-741-8633
  • Go to the emergency department of either St. Mary's Hospital in Kitchener, or Cambridge Memorial Hospital in Cambridge
  • Call the Sexual Assault Domestic Violence Treatment Centre (located at both St. Mary's and Cambridge Memorial hospitals) at 519-749-6994
  • Call the Police at 911
