Region of Waterloo Public Health does not keep a list of physicians who are currently accepting new patients, but here is who you can contact:

  • Kitchener/Waterloo Chamber of Commerce
    If you are looking for physicians in greater Kitchener Waterloo, you can call the Chamber of Commerce hotline 519-749-6043.
  • Ministry of Health and Long Term Care - Health Care Connect
    Health Care Connect can also help you find a family health care provider in your community. This program identifies physicians who are accepting patients and links them with people who are in need of a family physician. Call 1-800-445-1822 to sign up for the program.

Choosing a dentist and taking care of your oral health is a personal decision.

We all want a dentist we can talk to, learn from and feel good about visiting.

Here are some ideas on how to find a new dentist: 

  • Recommendations - Ask around. Friends, relatives, co-workers, or your neighbours may be able to help
  • Check the Yellow Pages for dentist listings 
  • Professional listings - Many association websites have a dentist locator or dentist directory.

Things you may want to consider when looking for a dentist: 

  • Is the location convenient? 
  • How long does it usually take to get an appointment? 
  • Do the office hours work well with your schedule? 
  • What happens if you have an emergency or need after-hours care? 
  • What payment options are available? 
  • If you have children, will the dentist see them too?
