Bacteria Testing
Private well water owners in Waterloo Region are encouraged to test their well water for bacteria (i.e. coliform and E. coli) three times each year free of charge.
Water sample bottles are available at Region of Waterloo Public Health offices and all area Township Offices.

Nitrate, Nitrite and Fluoride Testing
The Region of Waterloo Laboratory offers nitrate, nitrite and fluoride testing for private well water owners for a small fee ($14 per parameter).
Well owners are encouraged to test their well water for nitrates, nitrites and fluorides once each year.
Water sample bottles are available at Region of Waterloo Public Health offices and all area Township Offices (see the locations chart further down this page).
