Public Health Influenza Immunization Clinics Wind Down

Public Health community H1N1 and seasonal flu clinics will run through December 15th before wrapping up until January.

“We have clinics scheduled until December 15th” said Dr. Liana Nolan, Medical Officer of Health for Waterloo Region. “There will be a few Public Health clinics scheduled in January, but immunizations will continue to be available from most physicians, some urgent care clinics, and many employers will soon be offering both H1N1 and seasonal immunizations.”

The following Public Health clinics are open to all individuals and offer both H1N1 and seasonal immunizations:
    December 9th – Elmira District Secondary School, 4 University Avenue - Elmira – 2-8 p.m.
    December 10th – Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex - 101 Father David Bauer Drive, Waterloo – 2-8 p.m.
    December 14th – Jacob Hespeler Secondary School – 355 Holiday Inn Drive, Cambridge – 2-8 p.m.
    December 15th – Forest Heights Collegiate Institute, 255 Fischer-Hallman Road, Kitchener – 2-8 p.m.
For general information about H1N1 immunization, the public can call 519-883-2289, or visit the Waterloo Region Pandemic website at www.waterlooregionpandemic.ca. A list of upcoming clinics is also available on the health unit’s automated clinic phone line at 519-883-2324. Any persons with accessibility issues who are unable to access the vaccines through their physicians and who would have difficulty accessing the vaccine in a mass clinic setting are invited to call 519-883-2272 to make an appointment to receive the vaccine.
