H1N1/Seasonal Flu Clinics Announced

Dr. Hsiu-Li Wang, Associate Medical Officer of Health for Waterloo Region, today announced an additional H1N1 clinic, and confirmed that seasonal flu clinics are set to begin.

“Demand for the H1N1 immunization remains healthy in our community,” noted Dr. Wang, “so we’ve added an additional H1N1 clinic to our schedule on December 8th, in Cambridge.”

Dr. Wang confirmed that beginning with the December 9th clinic, residents will be able to be immunized for both the H1N1 AND seasonal flu at the community clinics. “We’re transitioning to our seasonal flu clinics, but the H1N1 immunization will continue to be available at our clinics. The province has also given permission to workplaces to begin offering both seasonal and H1N1 immunizations to their employees starting next week, so that will give people another option for receiving their immunization.”

Upcoming H1N1clinics:
    December 2nd – Huron Heights Secondary School – 1825 Strasburg Rd., Kitchener – 2-8 p.m.
    December 3rd – St. David’s Catholic Secondary School – 4 High Street, Waterloo – 2-8 p.m.
    December 7th – Resurrection Secondary School – 455 University Ave., W., Kitchener – 2-8 p.m.
    December 8th – Southwood Secondary School – 30 Southwood Drive, Cambridge – 2-8 p.m.
