Private well water owners in Waterloo Region can have their well water tested for bacteria, including total coliform and E. coli, free of charge.
Well owners are encouraged to test their well water for bacteria three times each year. Water sample bottles are available at Region of Waterloo Public Health offices and all area Township Offices.

Nitrate, Nitrite and Fluoride Testing
The Region of Waterloo Regional Laboratory offers nitrate, nitrite and fluoride testing for private well water owners for a small fee ($14 per parameter). Well owners are encouraged to test their well water for nitrates, nitrites and fluorides once each year. Water sample bottles are available at Region of Waterloo Public Health offices and all area Township Offices. For sample bottle pick-up and drop-off locations and times, see the chart below.
